New Pond Koi ProblemsI thought I would never have another Koi Pond, but have just built a small one (3000L). I have forgotten a lot about keeping Koi, but remembered a few basics.
I have had the filters running for about 2 weeks and only Saturday 3rd June did I introduce 2 small fish to get the filters going. However, today the fish are just not happy, fins clamped, staying at the bottom, not feeding and one of the fish is not using one of his swimming fin and also has a white area on the fin (not carp pox or fin rot). His body looks as if there are little white bits of skin flaking off, but it’s so difficult to describe these things in words.
All the water tests are OK (PH, ammonia, Nitrites). I was hoping to introduce some more fish in about 7 day’s time, but this occurrence has squashed that idea.
Could anyone give me some ideas as to what the problem might be or what I should do?
