hi kev here just enrolled on the site after my son carlos pointed it out.some usefull tips and hints.got a pond myself 3mtrsx3mtrs and about0.5mtrs at deepest point althought its shelved.got a couple of koi`s, tench, carp, rudd, comets and goldfish etc.its purely an ornamental pond but i find it interesting seing how the fish behave etc.been a lot of activity these past few weeks and i assume its due to them spawning as the pond is nearly always cloudy early in the morning then clears throughout the day.how long will this go on?also what are the chances of the spawn maturing into fry as the bigger fish seem to spend lots of time in these areas.had some rudd fry from last year though i would like to see some goldfish any tips for identifying the spawn or is it too difficult without separating the fish.
cheers, kev

Hi Kev,
Welcome to the Forum, spawning usually last for about two to three weeks dependant on your teperatures, unless you can seperate the fry from the adult fish then they will eat them, there will be the odds ones that can hide away so you may be lucky.
With regards to Goldfish eggs they are pretty much the same as Koi Eggs so you will have to see how they turn out later once they develop.
Call in for a chat if you need to.
Cheers
